Job Title: CNC Programmer

Job Description:

The CNC programmer will work under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor to prepare programs for CNC multiple and complex machining operations for a diversified line of work. Aligns and translates operations, tooling identification, indexing sequences, speeds and feeds to conform with prescribed engineering data. Tests accuracy of methods and sequences. Prepares instructions for machine operators. Documents and establishes standards and modifies, adjusts, and corrects existing standards to incorporate engineering changes.

Job Requirements:

  • Facility with complex programming of CNC mills, lathes, and robots.
  • Use of common machine shop hand tools and measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • High School diploma and Specialized Training required.
  • 3 years experience.

Job Description:

Surface Enhancement Technologies, LLC (SET) part of the Lambda Technologies Group seeks a qualified Field Service /Maintenance Machine Repair Technician to provide support onsite and at customer facilities.

  • Travels to customer facilities to set up, troubleshoot and repair machines.
  • Repairs, alters and overhauls all types of machine tools, special machines and production equipment
  • Diagnoses problems, tears down and reassembles intricate mechanisms and machines
  • Checks alignments
  • Is able to make intricate and extensive repairs without aid of conventional drawings
  • Makes suitable sketches, plans for replacing, substituting, or improving to suit unique situations

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

Design tooling for the implementation of a variety of machining and manufacturing operations in support of applying surface treatments to a variety of components. Design of both component processing LPB tools and a wide variety of component holding fixtures will be required. Responsibilities include developing tooling concepts, material selection, and basic stress analysis following existing design methods for hydraulic-mechanical tooling to be used in CNC machine and robotic applications. Management of application development projects including design of tooling, developing processing parameters, and validation testing interacting with customers, design, shop, and laboratory groups may be required.

  • Research and analyze system requirements, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Develop and define final requirements of products or systems such as instruments, controls, robots
  • Create and maintain development project plans including costs and schedules
  • Plan and direct personnel in fabrication of LPB instruments and the development of methods and processing procedures
  • Coordinate fabrication and installation of products to ensure systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications
  • Develop operation, maintenance, and repair procedures to obtain optimum utilization of tooling and equipment

Job Title: Materials Engineer

Lambda Technologies is seeking a Materials Engineer with industrial experience to join our rapidly growing surface integrity laboratory. This position will support the development of advanced surface enhancement technologies to improve the fatigue and SCC performance of critical components. The Materials Engineer position requires strong inter-disciplinary skills and knowledge, operating at the interface of metallurgy, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering. The Materials Engineer will provide assistance to the Laboratory and Engineering staff in the fields of metallurgy, materials, processing, and properties. A primary focus will be in the areas of mechanical behavior, fatigue, fracture mechanics, and fatigue lifing analyses. Duties will include communication with customers, and assisting with writing proposals, and reports. This position requires hands-on tasks including, but not limited to, conducting fatigue tests, application of shot peening, calibrating equipment, hardness measurements, failure analysis, and operating shop equipment. Technical publication is encouraged, including preparing and making presentations at conferences.

  • Expertise with materials, testing, and/or manufacturing of fatigue limited components
  • Coordinate technical requirements and report to industrial customers
  • Provide timely technical inputs for status reports, proposals, and quotations.
  • Design and coordinate laboratory testing to validate fatigue and SCC performance
  • Other engineering and documentation needs of the business, as deemed necessary

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least three (3) years related experience in mechanical, metallurgy/materials, or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with project management is highly desirable
  • Ability to conduct various hands-on tasks including materials testing and operating shop equipment

Job Title: Machinist

Job Description:

The machinist operates conventional machine tools to manufacture or alter components per engineering drawing, sketches, or verbal instruction from the department supervisor. The machinist should be capable of documenting operations and inspections on appropriate forms, performing routine maintenance on machine tools, and be prepared to help maintain a clean work area.

  • Care and use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, height gages, surface plates, gage blocks, etc.)
  • Care and use of standard hand tools (wrenches, pliers, files, deburring tools, scales, squares, protractors, etc.)
  • Bench operation, including: Layout, sawing, deburring, filing, tapping, reaming, fitting, and assembly.
  • Metal cutting: Operate conventional machine tools, calculate appropriate speeds and feeds for material being cut, perform basic setup and operation of common machine tools (saws, mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, etc.) and follow standardized work instructions.
  • Inspection/Quality Assurance: Inspect parts for conformation to engineering drawings using precision measuring tools, record actual size on inspection forms, and document manufacturing operations on appropriate forms.
  • Perform miscellaneous QA duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Fundamental skills: Machine shop safety, blueprint reading, and machine shop math.
  • The ability to write and edit simple CNC programming is a plus.
  • Machinist must maintain a professional appearance, have a positive attitude, and be able to work as a team player in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and have a minimum of three years machinist related experience. For those who possess a certificate of completion from an appropriate trade school or college program, a minimum of two years machinist-related experience is required.
